My current drawing practice is rooted in close observation, repetition, and the slow construction of image through layered mark-making. Working primarily in graphite, charcoal, and conté, I explore how perception shifts through scale, fragmentation, and subtle spatial disruption. Rather than presenting fixed viewpoints, the drawings often hold multiple moments of seeing at once, creating tension between clarity and ambiguity.
Familiar subjects, including still life, portraiture, and symbolic forms, are used as points of entry rather than endpoints. Through careful rendering and compositional intervention, the work examines how meaning emerges through attention, memory, and visual rhythm. Drawing functions both as method and inquiry; a way of testing how images behave when slowed down, reassembled, and experienced through sustained looking.
This practice remains open and adaptive, allowing subject matter to evolve while maintaining a consistent focus on perception, material process, and the relationship between image, viewer, and time.
