Submission Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in My Lil Lamb. We are an independent publishing house dedicated to nurturing heartfelt stories for children, young, and families. We seek work that is emotionally honest, imaginative, and rooted in care.

Please read the following guidelines carefully before submitting.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome submissions of:

  • Picture books (ages 3–8)

  • Early readers

  • Gentle, emotionally grounded middle grade

  • Stories centred on themes of empathy, growth, belonging, resilience, ritual, or family

  • Diverse voices and inclusive narratives

We are especially drawn to stories that:

  • Honour children’s emotional intelligence

  • Explore tender or transformative experiences

  • Blend simplicity with depth

  • Feel timeless rather than trendy

What We Are Not Seeking

  • Didactic or overly moralistic stories

  • Heavily commercial series concepts

  • AI-generated manuscripts or illustrations

  • Previously published work (unless rights have reverted)

How to Submit

Please send the following in a single PDF attachment:

  1. A brief cover letter (max one page)

  2. A short author bio (100–150 words)

  3. Your full manuscript (for picture books under 1,000 words preferred)

If you are an author-illustrator, you may include:

  • 2 - 3 sample spreads

  • A link to your portfolio

Response Time

Please allow 8–12 weeks for a response. If you have not heard from us after that time, you may consider your work respectfully declined.
