Vancouver’s tastiest underground art event returns to Fortune Sound Club for a night of high-energy culture and local talent. We’re stripping away the traditional "white-cube" gallery pretense and replacing it with a raw, high-density experience that brings together 100+ local artists for one night only.
The West of Main Art Walk is a free, self-guided annual event that showcases over 80 local artists across Vancouver’s west side. Visitors explore home studios, shared exhibition spaces, and community hubs, creating meaningful connections between artists and the public while celebrating creativity, accessibility, and neighbourhood culture.
Happy to share that I have a sound art piece in this collaborative show, a project by Ross Birdwise sustained over a period of workshops and studio time working with artists on the idea of sound, art, and transmutation.
My piece is a response to a drawing by Tanya Kwan. It’s an impromptu piano work with vocalizations that translate rhythms of the crumpled paper and her gestural marks.

Join artist Julianne Chladny for a gentle, community-centered drawing workshop held alongside her solo exhibition Ritual Held. This session invites participants to slow down, draw together, and explore mark-making as a shared ritual of care and attention.
No previous drawing experience is required. The workshop focuses on process rather than perfection, encouraging participants to work at their own pace while responding to simple prompts and materials.
This gathering reflects the core themes of Ritual Held - everyday gestures, repetition, and shared presence - extending the exhibition from viewing into collective making.
All materials will be provided. Space is limited.
Ritual Held brings together a series of drawings and gestures that attend to the ways meaning is carried through repeated acts. Centered on everyday objects and simple practices, the works in this exhibition reflect on how ritual persists not through certainty or belief, but through use, attachment, and return. This catalogue accompanies the exhibition as a record of what has been held: visually, materially, and collectively over time.
